all men dream; but not equally

All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake up in the day to find it was vanity, but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible– T. E. Lawrence

Every time I read this paragraph, a wave of thoughts will be provoked because there is truth, beauty and precariousness in it. The power of the mind in conscious and unconsciousness dreaming can manifest amazing ideas. The mind of each individual is crafted through infinite experiences and emotions, permutating infinite possibilities of development of dreams.

In the respite of the world during sleep, the mind can continue to explore. In this rested state, energy is available for the mind to wonder without other sensory distractions. Often the exploration is hazy and only vivid for the moment, only to be partially recalled when consciousness sets in. The exaggerated, inflated ego and characteristics churned by the mind, fuels the fantasy of dreams. The wildness of these dreams can be a feel good or a feel bad episode, which is shrouded in mystery as to why the mind moved a certain direction. The direction may not be one taken in the actual world setting, as dreams allow for boldness and risks.

The conscious mind will wander differently from the dreams in sleep. There is greater control and more manipulation to alter the course of the thoughts. The mind will be bolder and crave for action, as the need to fulfill that thought grows stronger as it is no longer one of a back thought. With greater clarity in the conscious state, the dreams are more well thought and evaluated, driving the increase in determination to follow through. On the other hand, the opposite can happen. The lack of courage to fuel those day dreams, merely belittles the thoughts. Instead of being realised, these dreams get sidelined or swept away as an impossible idea. It will be unfortunate to miss those opportunties.
